Where I have been?

So I know you see that there’s a gap between the last time I posted and now, and I wanted to give you an update on where I’ve been.

In late January, my dad passed away. It was about four months after my brother passed, and during that time, of course, I was grieving, trying to figure out life, and realizing that the two men who may have loved me the most—up until this point—are gone. The two men who had my back throughout the years are gone.

And I will say, it is not easy to go through those things.

Obviously, I thought me and my brother had more time. I thought me and my dad had more time. All those different thoughts. And even praying for my dad to get better—and then the next thing you know, he passes away. You’re thinking he’s going to be okay, but in all actuality, God had other plans.

So for the both of them, instead of me getting upset or angry with God, I had to realize their lives. I had to realize they were tired—both tired in their own way. And instead of being upset about them passing, I thank God for the years He allowed them to be in my life.

The connection that I had with my brother and my dad—and the point that God still allows my dad to visit me in my dreams to this day, even my brother—showed me that death didn’t stop their love for me. Or mine for them. It just changed positions.

They got better seats in heaven. And instead of them walking with me or me being able to call them, now they’re watching over me.

I also made a song for them. I’ll insert a link if you care to listen.
